Homeowner FAQs
Q: Will this save my home in case of a wildfire?
A: That depends. Since wildfires are so
dynamic, there are many variables involved with how a wildfire
will act. Variables include, DEFENSIBLE
SPACE, water supply,
terrain, vegetation, etc. If you are not sure if a Monsoon
will help you, contact your local fire agency
Q: How do I set this up?
A: The short answer is that the 4 SPS 75 sprinklers will
go in each corner of the area to be defended. The SPS 750
(spider legs) will go on your rooftop. With your hose and
fittings, you connect the sprinklers to your garden hose
water tap.
Q: Why do I need to contact my local fire agency?
A: There are a number of reasons. One is
to find out whether you really need a Monsoon. Another is
so that they know
you have a system installed and to see if they can set
it up and/or activate it for you when needed. You will still
want
to evacuate when called upon.
Q: What if I am in a remote area and there
is no nearby fire agency?
A: Then a Monsoon is very important for you. This can be
a key to saving your home. With adequate water, you can
turn on the Monsoon and then evacuate.
Q: Are they easy to set up?
A: Yes. Again, your local agency can help
you lay out your system. We can help too if needed. Know
where you will place your sprinklers ahead of time. They
are quick and easy to set up when needed.
Q: If the forest around me burns, I wouldn't
want to live here anymore. Besides, I have insurance. Why
would I want to save my home?
A: Surprisingly, we hear this a lot. The
answer is because the vegetation around you WILL grow back.
You life that you
keep in your house will not. Also, it's never a given that
you will get insurance reimbursement. |
